Shakespearean English Culture Festival

Beginning in 1996, SESers have long approached their annual production of Shakespeare’s plays with the utmost professionalism. In 2013, as part of the school’s humanistic reform, the SES launched Shakespearean English Culture Festival. In addition to producing a play, SESers can now participate in a variety of cultural events, from dubbing contests to poetry recitation contests, and can attend a series lectures, from which they can learn more about Shakespeare and those SES predecessors who have made outstanding contribution to the study and the translation of Shakespeare’s works. The rereading of the classics and the series of activities allow SESers broaden their liberal arts experience and explore the greatness of humanities. Showcasing the richness of campus life, the Festival has become a brand of SES and of SISU.
