Dr Jiqing Dong is a lecturer in translation & interpreting at SISU. She obtained her Master degree from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Sponsored by China Scholarship Council, she undertook her doctoral project (2012-2016) on public service interpreting at Heriot-Watt University, UK. From 2017 to 2019, She worked as a lecturer at University of Leicester, UK, convening MA modules in Translation Studies. Jiqing is supervising Master students in various fields such as mental health/court interpreting, consecutive interpreting on diplomatic occasions, cultural translation, etc.


Her research interests focus on (1) interpreter-mediated communication in primary legal, medical and cultural settings; (2) museum T&I practice from a multi-modal perspective; (3) computer-assisted interpreting; and (4) interpreting pedagogy using action research approach.
